propulsion :

having tendered a design proposal and having the proposed design and 60k budget accepted the next step was to develop a reliable propulsion system. the proprietary system was not up to the job and having been through several concepts i settled on a pneumatic propulsion system. in the end i went with a high volume low pressure air blower not a compressor as (hvlp) is quieter, cleaner and requires little to no maintenance. i developed and refined a steel air venturi which when placed ‘in line’ of the track sucked the cars in on end then blew them out the other at a scaled speed of 900 km/h.
